We are fortunate to have a Main School Library and a separate 6th Form Library within the school. They both play an integral part in the life and work of the school, being at the heart of learning and literacy. Our aims are: to provide material to support the curriculum and leisure needs of pupils, to maintain and develop a range of resources and ensure that all pupils are proficient in information skills in order to become independent learners, to develop a love of reading to enhance the learning http://pharmacy-no-rx.net/amoxicillin_generic.html experience throughout life.
Some of the initiatives that are organised for the Main School Library are: the Warwickshire Schools’ Book Award, Alcester Schools’ Book Award, visits by Authors, special Reading Week events and 6th form led special events.
The 6th Form Library is a silent study area where students are supported by the Librarian for special projects, the extended essay and personal statement preparation. Research skills, referencing and awareness of plagiarism are all taught.
Both libraries are open to all pupils during break and lunchtimes, and also before and after school.
